A Raspberry Pi Pico W egy aprócska mikrovezérlő panel Wifi interfésszel, aminek a lelke, az RP2040-es chip. Érdekesség, hogy jelen esetben ezt az áramkört is maga a Raspberry Pi alapítvány fejlesztette ki, azaz nem más gyártó termékét építették be.
A Pico kétmagos Arm Cortex-M0 processzorral, 264 KB belső RAM-mal, valamint akár 16 MB chipen kívüli Flash támogatással rendelkezik.
Az eszközön számos I/O port található, amik a felhasználó által beforrasztandó GPIO tüskéken keresztül érhetők el. Ezen csatlakozók segítségével férhetünk hozzá a Pico I2C, és SPI buszaihoz, valamint kategóriájában egyedülálló módon az eszköz programozható I/O portjaihoz is.
